Memory-Map branded maps do not work on a Garmin GPS (or Magellan, lowrance, etc.) These GPS units use proprietary formats and only accept mapping products specially made for the purpose.
The Memory-Map software does connect to a Garmin for the transfer of tracks and waypoints but you cannot send the maps to the Garmin.
However, In New Zealand, we have published a Topographic map specifically designed for use on the Garmin range of GPSs - called Topo4gps – see here for details
