Can't connect to the Registration Server

If you're firewall or internet security is stopping Memory-Map from connecting with the server, and you’re unable to overcome this (by changing your internet security settings or temporarily disabling your firewall), this document explains how to manually work round this obstacle.

Manual activation via Off-Line Activation path

By using the Off-Line activation path (even though your PC may be on-line), you can perform a manual activation simply by copying and pasting between your User Account in the web browser and the off-line activation dialogs in Memory-Map.

1 - To start with, proceed with an activation in Memory-Map. When Memory-Map fails to connect, you will be offered the Off-Line Activation path. This provides the Hardware ID for the PC and a Resource ID for the feature you’re trying to activate. Leave this on screen and switch to your browser.

2 - Login to the licence management pages here.  If you haven’t already created a user account, do so now. If you haven’t already Registered a product serial number, do so now.

3 - You will see an Off-Line Activation option here too. Click this and you will get the Panel for entering the codes:

  • Copy and past the Hardware and Resource ID’s from Memory-Map into the boxes
  • If this is the first time you’ve activated a resource on this PC, Enter a name for the Hardware i.e. Home PC. Otherwise leave it blank, the hardware ID will automatically associate it with a previously named PC
  • You will probably have more than one resource to Activate, so go back to Memory-Map and select another feature to activate (i.e. Printing and map titles). Copy all the resource IDs in.
  • Select Activate Full License.

4 - Click on Recover Licence and select either Download licence file (recommended) or get the Manual licence data for manual entry.

Opening the downloaded licence file will install all the licences for that PC.
