1 - Downloading a zipped package of maps
Select and download the file from the web page. Make sure you know where the file is being downloaded and saved on your computer so you can easily find it later. Or, simply select to save it to the desktop.
Once the downloading has completed, right click on on the zipp file and select Extract All. Again, take note of the destination. This is the folder with all the maps files in it.
2 - Copying the maps to a PC for use with Memory-Map PC application
1. If you haven’t already got the Memory-Map PC app installed, download it from this web site (see Download pages) and install it.
2. Open Widows Explorer (My Computer) and select Local Disk (C:) and find the Maps folder.
3. Open the downloaded maps folder and move (drag and drop or cut and paste) the extracted map folder (not the zip file) into the c:\maps folder.
4. Open the Memory-Map application on the PC and open the Map List dialog and select Refresh Map List.
5. Make sure the location searched for maps is displayed as c:\Maps.
6. Make sure Search sub folders is ticked.

3 - Copying the maps to an iPhone/iPad for use with the Memory-Map app
To send the maps to the iPhone / iPad, you can use the file sharing option in iTunes. To do this:1. Get the Memory-Map app from the Apple AppStore.
2. With your iPhone / iPad connected to the PC, start the iTunes program on the PC.
3. Select the device (on the left).

4. In the middle, at the top of the page, you will see a set of tabs.

5. Select the "Apps" tab.
6. Scroll down and you should see a panel for file sharing.

7. Select the Memory-Map app and you will see a list of documents on the iPhone / iPad related to the app.
8. Open the extracted map folder then drag and drop the map files into the file list. Do not copy the folder, only the map files from within the folders. If you key Ctrl + A together, you can select and copy all the map files in a given folder. (see here for info on making file extensions visible)
9. You should see the progress of the files being copied to the device at the top of the iTunes frame.
10. You may need to restart the app for the maps to show in the map list. Double press the Home key, touch and hold the icons (indicating apps in suspension) and close the Memory-Map app. Restart the app, if you still do not see the maps listed, select MAP TYPES and SHOW ALL to ensure all maps are being listed.
4 - Activating and purchasing the maps
Regardless of what device you use the maps on, the first time you open and view one of the encrypted maps you will be prompted to activate it. If you haven’t already created a user account, do so now here.
If you do not already have activation rights in your account and need to buy them or migrate them from another device, this can also be done here.
In order for the map packages to be offered for sale you must have first activated a demo on a non iOS device like a PC or Android (a Demo on the Apple Device is not permitted). Only then will the purchase option be made available in the Licence management centre.
